Do you remember?

Do you remember when we used to be young and proud and thought we could eat the world without even leaving our school desks? Do you remember how passionate we were about whatever nonsense lost cause crossed through our heads that week? Do you still feel that feeling, every friday night, just when we crossed the door and head to the streets, thinking about how many girls we were going to pick up just by telling them about freedom and throwing up our ideals over their breasts. Do you even remember, waking up on sunday with the worst hangover since the last weekend and begging an imaginary god to take it away and make monday, friday again.

Well let me tell you my dearest friend. We are no longer in a classroom and the world ate us and threw us up. Nonsense causes are being faught by younger arms, now from a smart phone on some starbucks, but hey, they look just as cool as we used to. And those girls we used to pick up at crowded and loud bars, they are getting married right now, with the guys that never went to those bars, men who studied and got important jobs while we were talking to a donut addict god.

I’m not trying to scare you, it’s just that I’ve had this endless conversation with reallity and I understood that we are not that handsome anymore and we don’t have expensive cars to compensate it. But don´t worry, we are going to be fine, at least we don´t have to wear a suit everyday to go to work and bars will always be open for people like us. And there´s still this one girl, sitting next to you on your crappy car, listening to your old songs and smiling while you hold her hand, waiting for you to say the right words about the revolution and freedom and that Ché Guevara quote you like to repeat every time you feel powerless. So just turn the volume up, lay her on your chest and sing her a power ballad, while you figure out when you got old and why you still act like the utopia you dreamt about 10 years ago, still can come true.
